Hello! I am Jody, currently a program consultant in Seattle, WA. I am now on a path to becoming a UI designer. I aspire to work with underserved communities to have more access to technology, public information, and assistance. The work I do now is meaningful in that I can be resourceful to others by giving them guidance in a new chapter of their life. My background as a coordinator allows me to empathize with individual needs and wants. I will also be able to bring this mindset into my design career, combining responsive design and accessibility.
With these types of skills, I want to transition myself into a UI Designer role where I can continue helping users have access to different interfaces. I want to continue to help people by making designing for all users. I want to focus on the interface and make the overall design of a responsive website accessible to all users. There is an emphasis on accessibility design for me because it continues my aspiration for work.
When I am not designing, I enjoy playing PC games, streaming, and building mechanical keyboards. Mechanical keyboard building is a hobby that helps me stay creative when I don’t have that ability at my workplace. I share my keyboards through an online community by streaming these builds, posting photos and videos, and creating conversations with other keyboard enthusiasts that share the love for expensive rectangles. I hope to expand my creativity by joining the UX/UI community and exploring the limitless possibilities!
